The League of Women Voters of Minnetonka, Eden Prairie and Hopkins invites community members to attend Minnetonka’s Partnership for Community Resiliency 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, at the Minnetonka City Council Chambers, 14600 Minnetonka Blvd., Minnetonka.
This meeting is free and open to the public. Coffee and refreshments will be served.
The Resilient Communities Project is a direct response to the growing need to find sustainability solutions to issues facing communities by connecting the expertise of University of Minnesota faculty and students with cities, businesses and organizations throughout the state.
The 2012–2013 academic year will focus on issues relating to the city of Minnetonka. The program helps to identify potential projects based on community-identified sustainability issues and needs, and create a strategy to implement, evaluation and monitor their ongoing sustainability efforts.
Event speakers are Minnetonka Community Development Director Julie Wischnack and Resilient Communities Project Program Manager and Communications Coordinator Mike Greco.
